Although the Openwater Diver courses give you enough information and training to use scuba equipment on you own and to learn by trial and error, there is a faster, better and safer way to learn the fundamentals of deep diving. How you ask? By taking a Deep Diver specialty course. The Deep Diver Specialty course offers you the opportunity of a lifetime - going deep to see things others can only dream about.
This course will familiarize you with the skills, knowledge, planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems, hazards and how to get more enjoyment of diving between the 60 to 130 feet. The Deep Diver specialty course is intended to serve as a safe, supervised introduction to deeper diving within the limits of recreational scuba diving. Training will emphasize on fun and safety.
The goals of Deep Diver training are:
- To develop the student's theoretical knowledge of deep diving.
- To enable the student to plan, organize and make no-decompression
dives between the depths of 60 and 130 feet. - To better prepare the student for the risk factors associated with deep diving.
- To introduce the student to decompression tables.
- Review the procedures for proper safety stops and and emergency decompression procedures.
- To develop the student's knowledge on the special equipment, descent lines and buoyancy-control considerations when deep diving.
- To reveiw the current procedures for flying after diving and high-altitude diving relating to deep diving.
- To develop the students appreciation for their individual limits and increased risks through task loading excercises.

- September 16th Dives at 40 Fathom Grotto starting at 9:00am
- This class will be limited to 10 studens
- Nitrox certification is encouraged, but not required
