| Waves, Tides and Currents Specialty Course
Saturday February 17th at 3pm. The cost of the course is $49
and is limited to the first 12 folks to sign up.
Skills you will learn in the Wave, Tides & Currents course
- List the cause and formation progression of waves
- List the cause and formation of surf
- Define measurements of waves
- Describe and/or perform proper surf entries and exits
- Describe and/or perform proper techniques for boat diving in currents
- Describe proper procedures for diving in rip or longshore currents
- Demonstrate how to use a tide table
- Explain ebb and flood currents
- Plan and execute 2 open water dives in currents and/or surf
- This is an SSI specialty and is opened to all divers from all agencies.
Application for PADI's approval on the specialty has been applied for, if approved (no promises) either the SSI or PADI certification will be awarded based on the desire of the participant
