For the past 50 years, scuba training has required hours of classroom training sessions to learn the academic material necessary to become a skilled scuba diver.  Sitting through the classroom lectures was often boring and extremely time consuming.  In early 2000, PADI introduced the Go Dive Student crew pack, a study option that allows the prospective scuba student to complete the study material in a home-based setting, greatly reducing the classroom time necessary to complete the scuba certification.  Committed to continuous improvement in scuba education, PADI never sits still.

PADI now offers the next gigantic step in home knowledge development for scuba training.......the PADI eLearning Program.  This program allows you to completely master the academic materials through home study alone.  The PADI eLearning program allows you  to begin the learning process by purchasing the eLearning program directly from the Sea Level Scuba website.  At the time of the purchase of the eLearning program, you will identify the associated water-skills store and the store will be electronically notified that you have registered.  With eLearning, you will be assigned a "seat" in a virtual classroom on the internet and will be allowed to complete all of the academic study, including all chapter quiz tests and the final exam....all at a pace that suits your personal needs and schedule.  Throughout this study period, your progress  will be monitored by our PADI certified scuba instructors and our instructors will be available for consultation by email, telephone, or in person.  Upon completion of the eLearning course, you will print a Course Completion Referral Form indicating successful completion.  Upon completion of the eLearning program, you can proceed to the water skills development portion of your scuba training.

At Sea Level Scuba, we are excited about the introduction of eLearning and we will embrace the PADI eLearning program.  The program is easy to use and can be accessed from any computer with an internet connection.  You can complete individuals sections of study material at any pace, can revisit any section, and can leave the session and return later to the exact spot where you exited.  Numerous short video and audio clips are infused in the study material to further assist with understanding of particular topics.  We anticipate offering special Tutor and Test nights in our store to allow eLearning students to come in and work directly with our instructor staff.  As the year progresses, we will install special computer consoles in our training room to allow you to come into the store and use seat "seat" to complete the eLearning activities.  All in all, we fully expect the PADI eLearning program to be an absolute success and we anticipate taking better prepared students to the confined and open water sessions.

Don't worry!  This is not "scuba training over the internet".  We all know you cannot learn to dive on the internet.  This is using the power of the internet to deliver an academic training experience that cannot be accomplished with the older methods.  The result will be better learning, easier learning, all at a pace that suits your needs as a  student.
