The Scuba Certification Process .  Scuba certification in the United States earns you an Open Water Diver certification card.  In the US,

PADI eLearning for Beginning Open Water Scuba Divers.   Beginning scuba divers take the entry level PADI course called Open Water Scuba Diver.  This class has the most intensive home knowledge development requirement of all of the PADI classes.  In the past, the entry level student was required to purchase the PADI Go Dive Student crew pack containing the materials necessary to complete the home study process.  PADI has recently introduced the latest innovation in their continuous improvement process for training materials, the PADI eLearning program.  Using eLearning, the entry level student can use the multi-media power of the internet for completion of the home knowledge development requirements.  This is not simply a computerized version of the Go Dive student kit.  eLearning is a real step-function change in study technology.  With eLearning, you get a beginning-to-end approach to academic learning, including all knowledge development measurement and final testing.  For more information about the PADI eLearning program or to immediately sign up for the eLearning program, use the link above to visit our special eLearning page.

Continuing Scuba Diver Training .  After your initial scuba certification, those with further interest can avail themselves to a number of continuing education classes offered to help you learn more about specific types of scuba diving.  These are not required to participate in scuba diving.  They are simply there for those that have a thirst for additional knowledge about diving and about specific types of diving.  Classes to make you a more advanced diver, or classes to teach you the underwater skills of photography, night diving, and much more, are made available to those who wish to participate.  Regardless of what type of diving you choose, the Sea Level Scuba/PADI system of scientific training is always used to advance your knowledge and your ability to get every ounce of enjoyment out of your diving activities.
